Operation of vehicles Module II – Maneuvering area vehicle driving – initial training

Target group

The training is intended for personnel of operators and organizations working airside who require authorization to independently operate and manage transport and specialized ground support equipment in the manoeuvring area during airport operations and flight handling.

Description

Participants gain knowledge on:

• general rules and procedures for safety at work and ground movement at Vasil Levski Sofia Airport;
• main hazards and risks related to ground traffic and operations in the manoeuvring area at Vasil Levski Sofia Airport;
• actions in case of fire or emergency;
• methods of reporting safety events;
• conditions for obtaining permission for driving vehicles in the manoeuvring area;
• airport regulations and requirements;
• air traffic control basics;
• personal responsibilities;
• general airport layout and movement plan;
• risks in driving vehicles in the manoeuvring area; and
• types of aircraft operating to and from the airport.

Certificate

The Aviation Training Center shall issue a document to the successful graduates in accordance with Regulation No 27 of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. Application conditions: Additional condition for obtaining permission for self-driving vehicles in the manoeuvring area is the mandatory completion of training in Module III (Radiotelephone phraseology).
