Wildlife control – recurrent training

Target group

The training is intended for all airport personnel who, by virtue of their duties, take actions for reducing the risk of aircraft collisions with birds and animals.

Description

Participants gain knowledge on:

• Principles of bird and animal control;
• Main risks and consequences of aircraft collision with birds and animals;
• Bird identification and biology;
• Habitat management;
• Methods for reporting events related to aircraft collision with birds and animals at Vasil Levski Sofia Airport;
• Basic risk management principles;
• Organisational policy, roles and responsibilities for safety at Vasil Levski Sofia Airport.

Training duration

Initial training: 11 academic hours Recurrent training: 7 academic hours Maximum number of participants: 12

Certificate

The Aviation Training Center shall issue a document to the successful graduates in accordance with Regulation No 27 of the Ministry of Transport and Communications.
